Architecture Object

Architecture does not present us inhabitable spaces that changing as it lives. These are objects that only completed and finished. Urban vacancies at the city are open for habitants’ use, interventions and creativity. Habitant/ User can integrate its own living into this urban vacancy. Architecture product fills these vacancies with its own object which limits citizen’s intervention and threatens urban life. How can architecture define itself at the non-drawable or continously drawn border?

Merzbau

Architecture should be gathered together by fission of its elements that enables its re-integration to urban life, not as a whole object. Thus, these elements can have an interaction between each other according to their function and create a cluster among. This cluster can be included to the city by leaping to intermediate spaces. Decreasing or increasing of these clusters does not affect the operation of the system because of uncertainity of the system that is open to developement, reproduction, growth and depletion.

Merzin’s aim is to compound and provide cosmic harmony again by reinstating(aufbau) the pieces into its roots. “Aufbau, resilience and gathering of a set of materials and structures in order to construct living and organic being. That being gets move further and continues to develop by other fusions.”

BwO

Deleuze and Guattari mobilize in opposition to the organism and its organization, in opposition to the functional specificity of organs, so as to release the decoded and deterritorialized flows of desire. It is a system, that does not have hierarchical organization, specifing the location and order of the contents of organs without bodies. Thus, it is not against the organs but their organization.

Gathered clusters are the organs of the city and the school. These organs form new conditions by intersecting time to time and contribute to whole system

Streets are veins of these organs and intersection planes of that operation. These streets are flexible which can expand and vary.

Flexible Education

Today’s classrooms are being designed and open its borders within the flexiblity concept that embraces its own and the school as a whole. New school programs seek for variability and expandability besides flexibility-mobility.

Open University

Education should be conducted socially free and without class discrimination. Urban vacancy provides us that free space. Education should integrate with streets. By this way, urban vacancies can participate in School and strenghten its freedom and creativity.

Intermediate Level

In that project, intermediate levels constitute vacancies, vacancies feed intermediate levels. Intermediate levels are the sections of the spaces where they expand. The uncertainity and the limitlessness of the vacancy enables that flexibility.

At some part, raised and extorted floor from the street defines that vacancy, whereas at somewhere else floating light does it. These vacancies sometimes form an exhibition space, sometimes become spaces where production is made. Production unit can leap to intermediate level which is exhibition space, while intermediate level can also leap to production space to exhibit entire production.

Industrial Heritage

Existing industrial structures at the project site was not demolished but integrated to the project texture. That created texture neither extolls nor excludes these existing structures. The texture is articulated to these structures as it is in city. Industrial heritage becomes a part of the architectural education.

Cultural Axis

These are the spaces that integrated into city life and where production and sharing exist. They attract public into the architecture faculty. Units that settle into the buildings and make them alive, bridge over with Godsbanen while they become wide spaces that connecting the school and the landscape. Bridges that connect these wide spaces with school building from below and above ground, also directly connect with production spaces and intermediate levels. These spots are the places where school becomes public as a whole.
