Located within the rural fabric of Assos, this 180 m² detached countryside house offers a contemporary interpretation of the traditional Turkish house typology. Drawing on familiar spatial relationships, materials, and proportions, the project establishes a clear and well-considered spatial organization that conveys a sense of belonging within its context.

Set back from the street, the house is organized around a courtyard that mediates between inside and outside while opening toward the southern view. This threshold space defines the entrance sequence and forms an important focus of daily life. Opening directly onto the courtyard, the kitchen becomes both a social core and a transitional space that connects the shared living areas with the inner garden.

The spatial layout follows a clear hierarchy. Shared living spaces are located on the ground floor, maintaining a direct relationship with the courtyard and garden, while the upper floor is reserved for more private, view-oriented bedrooms. The side façades remain relatively solid and inward-looking, reflecting the introverted character of the village fabric, while carefully positioned openings frame views toward the surrounding landscape and establish visual connections with the village.

Material choices contribute to the house’s contextual presence. Stone textures are introduced as surface qualities, lending the building a modest and tactile character. Landscape elements such as the courtyard, a defining tree at the edge of the plot, and a small water feature further anchor the house to its immediate environment, reinforcing the relationship between architecture, village, and everyday life.
